John's Deep Muscle Massager Review

Overview

Due to my common workouts, my body is always aching and in need of a massage. Earlier this year I purchased a Hypervolt massage gun and am a big fan of its performance. However, the Hypervolt does come at a price. When I saw this Deep Muscle Massager on sale for half the price of the Hypervolt, I just knew that I had to give it a try. Let’s dive into the specifics.

What is it?

The Deep Muscle Massager is a massage gun that aims to massage the deep tissues in your body. While using, it is quite aggressive and you might feel sore. However, the aftereffect is totally worth it. It helps improve sore muscles and aching.

Product Design

Inside the box, you’ll find many items. This package includes the massage gun, a charging cord, four different head attachments, and an EVA storage box. Some hardware specs include: 3 speed settings, instant turn-off function (for safety), and super silent technology.

I’ll start this review by talking in depth about each item that comes in the package. First off, the Deep Muscle Massager comes with a black carrying case. The case itself is pretty good quality. It has little inlets so that each component of the massage gun fits snugly and doesn't move around or get damaged. The other side of the case also has a mesh pocket so you can also store anything else that you want in there, be it an instruction manual or any small device. I also like that there is a handle so this gun is completely light-weight and portable. This way, I can use it at home or at the gym. The handle itself is quite thin but it’s durable enough to carry the whole case with the gun inside. The Hypervolt gun doesn’t come with a case so this is a great addition, especially for the price.

Next, I’ll be talking about the gun and its features. It comes with a large batter that needs to be charged through a charging cable. The battery itself lasts 4-6 hours which is pretty good considering that you should only be using the gun for around 30 minutes at a time. This way, you could probably get in a lot of uses before you need to charge the gun again.

Now, I’ll talk about the main package component: the massage gun. At first glance, the massage gun is good quality and made of a durable metal. It has a bit of weight to it, but is lightweight enough that my arms don’t get tired holding it. You can start using the gun once you press the power button. The lights surrounding the power button tell you what mode the gun is on. I would probably prefer if this was told by a button on the side of the gun so that it’s more clear, but I suppose this version looks cool and futuristic. Compared to the Hypervolt, the feel and massage of the Deep Muscle Massager is more aggressive. I would definitely recommend testing this gun at level 1 before using it on your whole body. It’s best to get a sense of how it works and feels first so that you don't injure yourself by accident. While the gun does get slightly louder depending on the speed level, it is still pretty quiet thanks to its sound silencing technology.

Design-wise, the Deep Muscle Massager and the Hypervolt look almost identical, so if you’re debating on which one to buy, outer design makes no difference. I like all the head attachments that come with the gun, and they all have varying uses. The round cushion head, for example, is the softest, and works great if you want a softer, less aggressive massage.

Pros and Cons

Like any product, this massage gun has its pros and cons, but let’s start with the pros. First of all, it’s cheap, it comes with a carrying case, it comes with four head attachments, it has three different speed levels, and it does a good job at massaging sore muscles. For me, the cheaper price point makes a huge difference. These two massage guns have similar performances, but the Deep Muscle Massager is considerably more affordable. Also, for this price, you’re also getting a carrying case. This is something that Hypervolt would charge over 50$ for.

In terms of cons, I would say that the deep muscle massager’s materials feel slightly cheaper than the Hypervolt, and that its massage technique is slightly more aggressive. While it does feel slightly cheaper, this is understandable, considering that it comes at half the price of the Hypervolt.

Conclusion

To conclude, I think that the Deep Muscle Massager is a great massage gun if you’re looking for a product that’s cost effective, yet efficient. This gun performs well and is portable, so you can take it anywhere you go. If you’re working out a lot or have a job that causes you to strain your muscles often, I would definitely recommend this product!
